LeBron James entered the NBA as the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 draft. His professional debut followed a stellar high school career at St. Vincent-St.

Mary in Akron, Ohio. During his first stint with the Cavaliers, he won the 2009 and 2010 NBA MVP awards and led the team to its first-ever NBA Finals appearance in 2007. Despite individual success, he left Cleveland in 2010 for the Miami Heat in pursuit of championships.

LeBron returned to Cleveland in 2014, vowing to bring a championship to his home state. He achieved this in 2016, leading the Cavaliers to a historic NBA Finals victory over the Golden State Warriors. This series is particularly notable for Cleveland's unprecedented comeback from a 3-1 deficit, capped by LeBron's famous Game 7 block on Andre Iguodala. This victory marked the first championship in Cavaliers history and earned LeBron his third Finals MVP.

In 2018, LeBron signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, embarking on a new chapter in his career. After a challenging first season due to injuries, he led the Lakers to their 17th NBA championship in 2020, becoming the first player to win Finals MVP with three different franchises. The championship was especially meaningful as it came during a tumultuous year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
